| Briton 996 Series
In order to meet the aims of the Disability Discrimination Act and satisfy the guidelines of Approved Document M of the Building Regulations, it is necessary to carefully consider the use of conventional door controls on entrance doors and circulation doors within a building.
The Briton 996 Series incorporates an integrated electromagnetic hold-open mechanism which, when connected to the building's fire alarm and detection system, can be set to either ‘hold-open’ or ‘swing-free’ operation. In either case the spring power of the door control is electronically disengaged to allow free passage. When de-activated the electromagnet releases and the door is allowed to close in the normal manner to maintain fire integrity. The Briton 996 Series is ideal for use in areas where a conventional door control would hinder, or worse, bar access to the user. |
